Flamengo, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro top spending as Série A window closes | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Série A clubs spent R$ 1.586 billion on 157 signings as Brazil’s window closed. The total trailed last year’s record above R$ 1.8 billion, but delivered a fifth straight window beyond R$ 1 billion.

Figures reflect agreed fees regardless of payment dates. They include exercised purchase clauses, exclude signing-on fees, extras and intermediaries, and may shift with exchange rates. Performance bonuses are counted only once triggered and paid.

Flamengo led the spend with their biggest window while adding only three. Andrew cost about €1.5 million, Vitão arrived via €4.7 million in debt forgiveness tied to Thiago Maia plus €5.5 million, and Lucas Paquetá for roughly R$ 260 million.

Paquetá set a national record, surpassing Gerson’s near R$ 169 million move to Cruzeiro by R$ 91.2 million, a 54% rise.

Palmeiras were the second biggest spenders at about R$ 190 million and made the fewest additions, prioritising Marlon Freitas and Arias. They also bought Bruno Fuchs and Larson outright.

Cruzeiro placed third, with Gerson accounting for 97% of outlay. They paid US$ 1 million for Chico da Costa, and signed Bruno Rodrigues, Matheus Cunha and Néiser Villarreal on free transfers.

Fluminense secured five, centre-backs Jemmes and Julián Millán, full-back Guilherme Arana, midfielder Savarino, and striker Rodrigo Castillo, a US$ 10 million club record. Atlético-MG spent R$ 133 million on seven, Cassierra, Maycon, Minda, Preciado, Renan Lodi, Tomás Pérez and Victor Hugo.
