Flamengo players given 26 and 27 off after training week | OneFootball

Flamengo beat Red Bull Bragantino 2-1 in the 28th round. During the September international window, Leonardo Jardim has granted the squad Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 off after a full week on the training ground.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the players were off on Monday 21, then reported back on Tuesday 22 at Ninho do Urubu. Training continued through Friday 25 before the weekend break.

The window runs until 6 October, giving Jardim almost two weeks to work with much of the group. Five are on international duty, Pedro and Samuel Lino with Brazil, Arrascaeta and Varela with Uruguay. Anthony Valencia is with Ecuador for friendlies.

The pause comes at a favourable moment, with Flamengo leading the Brasileirão and still alive in the Copa Libertadores. A demanding schedule follows the window, with decisive games in both competitions, so this period of work and rest carries extra weight.

Flamengo are due back on 8 October at 19:30, visiting Santos at Vila Belmiro in the 29th round. The extended preparation should help the side arrive in better physical condition for the run-in.
