Flamengo are pushing to add at least one reinforcement before the Copa Libertadores last-16 registration cut-off at 18:00 Brasília time on Friday 07, with talks for Zenit winger Luiz Henrique and a standing bid for Thiago Almada.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo have not withdrawn their offer for the Atletico Madrid midfielder and may not need to, with Almada to decide between them and River Plate. There is currently a better chance of success with Brazilian winger Luiz Henrique.

Almada's proposal is around 27 million euros, roughly R$ 158.2 million, potentially rising to 30 million euros, R$ 178 million, through bonuses and performance clauses.

Flamengo's offer for Luiz Henrique starts near 30 million euros plus 5 million euros in bonuses, about R$ 178 million and R$ 29 million. The club do not expect to complete both deals, aiming to keep finances healthy. The main sticking point is payment terms, with Flamengo seeking instalments over about three years and Zenit preferring an upfront fee.

Luiz Henrique has been playing for Zenit and would arrive match ready. Almada, recently back from holiday, would not land in Rio immediately fit to feature.

The transfer window remains open until 11 September.
