Flamengo laboured to a draw with Internacional at Beira-Rio, rescued late by Samuel Lino after a flat team display. Midfielder Jorginho endured a torrid night, his error leading to the hosts’ goal.

According to Globo.com, Lino topped the ratings with 7.5 while Jorginho was bottom with 3.0, and head coach Leonardo Jardim scored 3.5. Goalkeeper Rossi made a fine stop in the build-up to Inter’s strike and was largely blameless, later being tested by Paulinho at 31 minutes of the second half.

Léo Pereira felt a knee issue on 12 minutes but continued, as the midfield lacked tempo and invention. Everton Araújo was the pick before half-time yet was replaced by Erick Pulgar at the break, and Pulgar collected a needless late yellow. Jorginho could not organise play on his return from the World Cup pause.

Danilo came on at the interval seeking control with longer passes, but almost gifted a winner in stoppage time. Emerson Royal and Bruno Henrique entered on 17 minutes, with the right flank remaining short on spark.

Arrascaeta had been well below par and even blocked a Pedro effort before igniting the move for the equaliser, Bruno Henrique supplying the cross for Lino to level on 35 minutes of the second half. Pedro was quiet but involved in the goal, and De la Cruz arrived on 38 minutes of the half, too late for a rating. Varela, back from the Copa after two league games as Royal’s understudy, struggled and later switched to left-back for Alex Sandro, while Vitão was booked for a rash foul on Vitinho and departed feeling the effects.
