Emerson Royal and Lucas Paquetá were Flamengo’s standouts against Cruzeiro at Mineirão, while head coach Leonardo Jardim earned the lowest mark after delaying key changes.

According to Globo.com, Royal scored 7.5 for his two-way display and Paquetá 7.0 after transforming the game, with Jardim rated 4.5 for keeping Paquetá and Pedro benched for 65 minutes.

Arrascaeta’s best moment put Bruno Henrique through, but he lifted a clear chance over. Samuel Lino’s rash slide left Arroyo free to score, and Rossi was beaten by Cruzeiro’s only effort on target.

Introduced on 65, Paquetá needed only a minute to find the net and lifted Flamengo’s level, while Pedro added mobility. Ayrton Lucas impressed defensively and delivered the free-kick that led to Flamengo’s goal.

Léo Ortiz built calmly under pressure from Kaio Jorge, with Léo Pereira largely solid before allowing the striker a dangerous late header. Erick Pulgar grew after the break and made a vital late intervention in the area.

Jorginho improved after a poor first half. Plata worked hard without end product and Carrascal had one presentable chance. Jardim corrected course in time, though Flamengo finished the second half extremely cautiously.
