Flamengo have named a mixed side for Sunday’s Carioca quarter-final derby against Botafogo. Head coach Filipe Luís has opted to rest several regulars.

The defence is largely made up of back-ups. Royal has played the last three matches but is not first choice, while Varela is sidelined with pain in his right ankle.

Other absences are De la Cruz, rested because of the synthetic surface, Jorginho with a left thigh injury, Saúl after surgery on his left ankle, and Wallace Yan due to muscular pain.

Flamengo starting XI: Andrew in goal, Royal, Vitão, Danilo and Ayrton Lucas in defence, Pulgar, Paquetá and Carrascal in midfield, Plata, Samuel Lino and Bruno Henrique in attack.
