Flamengo have settled key business early in Brazil’s first transfer window, with 20 days left to tweak the squad before three March.

A centre-forward is missing, and a bid for Kaio Jorge was refused by Cruzeiro. Taty Castellanos and Marcos Leonardo were discussed.

Marcos Leonardo rejected a mid-year bid, preferring not to return to Brazil then, and would favour São Paulo if he did. Flamengo have not revived the move and also see him as similar to Pedro.

They will only add a striker who fits or raises the level. After spending 42 million euros on Paquetá, Flamengo are seeking a loan with an option to buy to spread costs.

Midfield is also under watch. A move for Marcos Antônio was rejected by São Paulo. With Allan out, De la Cruz managed and Saúl recovering from surgery, a reinforcement is being evaluated.

Exits included Juninho to Pumas for 5 million euros, Michael after a termination to Al Ula, Allan to Corinthians on a free loan with an option, and Carlinhos to Remo.

Income included Viña’s 500,000 dollar loan to River Plate, Victor Hugo to Atlético-MG for 2.5 million dollars, and Iago to Orlando City for 1.4 million dollars. The Wallace Yan deal to Red Bull Bragantino, about 10 million euros upfront, stalled over instalments. Flamengo will sell only on original terms.
