Flamengo fullback Wesley remains near the top of Roma‘s transfer wish-list, but a deal for the youngster won’t come cheap.
The 22 year-old is currently involved in the Club World Cup as the Giallorossi and Juve battle it out for his signature.
According to Flamengo sporting director Jose Boto, however, it will not be easy to match Flamengo’s demands for him.
“When it comes to (a transfer deal for) Wesley, €20 million is not enough,” Boto revealed to Corriere dello Sport.
“We want at least €30 million for him. Wesley is ready for Europe. We will see after the World Cup, but we are not obliged to sell him.”
He reiterated the club’s stance in a follow-up interview with Corriere della Sera, insisting they won’t lower their demands.
“Wesley is very, very fast, he attacks well, more offensive than defensive,” explained Boto.
“We are asking for €30-35 million, but right now they’re only offering us €25 (million).”
