Flamengo are easing Anthony Valencia into the side, with Leonardo Jardim favouring a gradual plan after the forward’s only appearance since his September arrival.

According to Globo.com, heavy competition from Plata, Carrascal, Luiz Araújo and Lucas Paquetá, plus adaptation to Brazilian football, have limited his minutes. The club view this as normal bedding in and believe he could become a starter in the medium term.
