Flamengo team news: Bruno Henrique a doubt for Mirassol trip | OneFootball

Flamengo visit Mirassol on Sunday in the 23rd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro after their Libertadores first leg, with Bruno Henrique a doubt and Leonardo Jardim aiming to field his strongest available side.

According to Globo.com, the forward will be re-evaluated on Saturday to decide whether he can travel. He has slightly eased the pain in his left ankle but remains uncomfortable and skipped training after a stamp from Matheus Henrique at the Mineirão.

Jardim will also be without Alex Sandro, who is recovering from right calf tendinitis, and Vitão, who has a left thigh muscle injury and needs a few more weeks. Neither trained with the group, and one session remains to finalise the XI.

Luiz Araújo could return to the squad. He was cleared before the Cruzeiro match but left out after limited training, and has recovered from a left knee injury sustained in late July during the mid-season camp.

Everton Cebolinha is also a doubt after a bout of flu and did not work with the group this week. He has been on the grass in separate sessions.

Following Palmeiras’ slip last round, Flamengo have cut the gap and revived their title hopes. Palmeiras are on 48 points, Flamengo have 42 with a game in hand.
