Flamengo returned to Rio after a 2-0 win at Independiente del Valle in Quito, and Leonardo Jardim is weighing changes for Corinthians given the short turnaround and long trip.

According to Globo.com, the squad landed on Friday morning after Thursday's match in the Libertadores quarter-finals, and with only two days to recover after playing at altitude, the coach could rest starters in the Brasileirão.

Jardim said the exertion was significant, citing two days of recovery, many hours of travel and the 2,850-metre altitude, after players worked for 90 minutes.

He plans to use some who featured less, start their recovery and try to have them ready for Corinthians. It is still early to pin down a line-up, as Flamengo have not trained since the game. Pedro, a substitute in Ecuador, has a strong chance to start.

A possible XI is Rossi in goal, Varela, Danilo, Léo Ortiz and Ayrton Lucas in defence, Pulgar, Paquetá and Carrascal in midfield, then Plata, Bruno Henrique, with Luiz Araújo an option, and Pedro in attack.

Flamengo face Corinthians at 17:30 on Sunday at the Maracanã in the league. The return leg against Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores is on Thursday at 21:30, also at the Maracanã.
