Flamengo the only Brazilian in top 50 producers for Europe’s elite leagues | OneFootball

Flamengo are the only Brazilian club named in a top 50 of clubs supplying players to Europe’s big five leagues, which is led by Barcelona. Those divisions are the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.

According to Globo.com, a CIES Football Observatory study lists Barcelona on 40 players, with Real Madrid on 35 and Paris Saint-Germain on 31. Flamengo have 11 and stand as the country’s sole representative.

The top 10 also features Chelsea, Real Sociedad, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City. Ajax, Sporting, River Plate and Boca Jrs are likewise cited as global benchmarks in player development.

The study also ranks the current season by minutes played, with Real Madrid in first place. It offers long-term tables for the past five and 10 years.

In both timeframes, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain occupy the top three, underlining their productivity for the big five.
