Flamengo ‘to avoid’ big-fee signings in mid-year window, focus on depth

Flamengo have set a restrained approach for the mid-year window, prioritising squad depth over headline fees. Recent windows brought expensive deals including Lucas Paquetá and Samuel Lino.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the club will not pursue high-cost signings this time, having already invested 42 million euros to buy Lucas Paquetá.

Recruitment will focus on a centre-forward and a left-back to strengthen options for the season run-in.

The transfer window opens on 20 July and closes on 11 September. Until then, the club will monitor potential opportunities.

The squad are on a World Cup break. Flamengo next visit Chapecoense on 22 July in Chapecó in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
