According to ESPN, Flamengo have been served to deposit 10% of Wesley’s transfer fee, around R$ 16.8 million, with the court.
Tubarão, a Série B side from Santa Catarina, has filed a lawsuit in Rio Grande do Sul against Flamengo. The club is seeking the sum amid a legal dispute with the SAF that currently runs the institution.
A court officer has been appointed to notify Flamengo to pay R$ 16,805,220.36 to Tubarão. The parties are also disputing possible FIFA solidarity payments, as Wesley played in Tubarão’s youth ranks.
Wesley left Flamengo in last year’s mid-season window, joining Roma for €25 million, about R$ 161 million at the time. Flamengo could receive a further €5 million, roughly R$ 32 million, in add-ons.
While the club’s legal team assesses the case, Flamengo’s senior squad are preparing for the start of 2026. A meeting on Tuesday 20 determined that the team will face Vasco with first-choice players after the under-20s’ poor start in the Carioca.
The clássico against Vasco is scheduled for 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 21 at the Maracanã.
