Flamengo to field senior side against Vasco after plan change

Flamengo have revised their plan and will field the senior team, with Filipe Luís on the touchline, against rivals Vasco in the Carioca on Wednesday.

According to Coluna Do Fla, a Tuesday meeting at CT George Helal, attended by president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, executive José Boto and head coach Filipe Luís, made the decision.

Flamengo began the competition with their under-20s in the early rounds, but after disappointing results the club adjusted the approach.

The matchday list has not been disclosed. The expectation is that Filipe Luís will mix some first-team regulars with the group that had been featuring in the state tournament.

The third-round fixture is scheduled for 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 21 at the Maracanã.
