According to Globo.com, Leonardo Jardim could welcome key returns for Flamengo's clássico with Botafogo.

Centre-back Léo Pereira trained as normal and will return to the starting XI after being rested against Cruzeiro, having started four matches in two weeks.

Left-back Alex Sandro, defender Vitão and midfielder De la Cruz have been carrying out on-pitch transition work and are not yet cleared to rejoin full training. Their inclusion in the squad depends on their physical progress this week. If they complete this phase, selection will be up to Jardim.

Alex Sandro is recovering from pain in his right calf due to tendinitis, while Vitão is treating a left thigh muscle injury. De la Cruz is also recovering from a muscle injury in his left thigh.

Bruno Henrique is a confirmed absentee after receiving his third yellow card in the defeat to Cruzeiro, so he will serve a suspension in the 25th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Flamengo face Botafogo on Sunday at 16:00, Brasília time, at the Maracanã.
