Flamengo, still fielding their under-20s, chase a first win of 2026 against Volta Redonda on Saturday at 21:30 Brasília time, in their final under-20 outing in the Carioca. According to Globo.com, Raulino de Oliveira has hosted 12 first professional goals by the club's academy graduates.
The latest was last Sunday, when Iago headed a late equaliser for 1-1 against Portuguesa. He has scored big goals in the youth ranks, including the Under-20 Intercontinental final against Barcelona, but had seen little senior action.
In 2023, Lorran netted in a 1-1 draw with Bangu, becoming the club's youngest professional scorer at 16 years, six months and 20 days. Also in the Carioca, Matheus Gonçalves and André Luiz sealed a 2-0 win over Resende. It proved the forward's only club goal.
In 2022, Victor Hugo headed the second in a 2-0 win over Altos-PI in the Copa do Brasil. In 2018, Lucas Silva and Pepê scored on debut in a 2-0 win against Volta Redonda.
In 2017, Paquetá struck from near halfway in a 4-0 win over Madureira. Earlier came Thiago Santos in 2016, Rodolfo in 2013, Bruno Mezenga with two in 2010, and centre-back Hélder with two in 2006, all at Raulino.
For Saturday's probable line-up, only Iago, Guilherme, Douglas Telles and Joshua have senior goals. Daniel Salles, João Victor, Gusttavo, Pablo Lúcio, Lucas Vieira and David Viana are still waiting. Will the pattern repeat this Saturday?
