Flamengo have yet to finalise plans for the World Cup pause and are considering an overseas training camp, with head coach Leonardo Jardim to make the final call.

According to Globo.com, the break runs from 11 June to 19 July. Time off will begin after the 30 May match against Coritiba at the Maracanã and is expected to last about 15 days.

On return, the squad will resume work at Ninho do Urubu. The second stage could be held in South America, with Uruguay and Argentina options, while Portugal is currently viewed as less likely.

Nothing has been agreed, and the club are looking to speed up decisions. The first game after the World Cup is away to Chapecoense, with the date expected to fall between 22 and 23 July.

Flamengo have at least 12 players on provisional World Cup lists. For Brazil, the seven are Danilo, Alex Sandro, Léo Pereira, Léo Ortiz, Lucas Paquetá, Pedro and Samuel Lino. Varela, Arrascaeta and De la Cruz feature for Uruguay, with Carrascal for Colombia and Plata for Ecuador.

With the season starting earlier, the club did not receive 30 days of leave between 2025 and 2026, so this break could top up rest. Jardim also wants to use the window to look more closely at academy players.
