Despite going down to 10 men in the first half, Crystal Palace looked to be earning a draw at home to Ipswich town until Zian Flemming netted a late winner.
It had been the Eagles who took the lead in the game when Daichi Kamada found Anan Khalaili on the right whose well-struck low effort found its way past Kjell Scherpen in the 14th minute.
The visitors levelled the score soon after when Leif Davis produced a typically good delivery from the left into the box that Emersonn finished from close range.
The complexion of the game changed in the 34th minute when the Eagles were reduced to 10 men. There didn't appear to be any malice in Axel Disasi's challenge but his studs were up as he connected with Jack Clarke which resulted in his sending off.
Ipswich made the most of their numerical superiority just before the break when a cross from the right found Emersonn who this time assisted Leif Davis by heading the ball on for the full-back to finish.
Palace did eventually get themselves on level terms though when Kamada found Strand Larsen who outmuscled his defender before firing low into the corner.
As time ran out it looked like Pierre Sage's side had earned an unlikely point but it was to be the Tractor Boys' day when Julio Enciso whipped a ball into the box that was headed onto the bar with Flemming being on hand to fire home and seal a 3-2 win for the promoted side.
