Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly determined to keep Marcus Rashford at the club beyond this season.
The 28-year-old forward joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United earlier in the campaign, and his performances have quickly made him an important part of the team’s attacking structure.
While the move was initially seen as a temporary solution, Rashford’s impact has now sparked serious discussions about making the transfer permanent.
Within the club’s sporting department, however, there is no complete agreement on the matter.
Sporting director Deco is reportedly evaluating alternative options for the left wing ahead of the summer transfer window.
One of the names being considered is Pedro Neto, who has been attracting attention across Europe for his performances.
Despite that possibility, Flick has reportedly made his position very clear internally.

According to reports from The Touchline, the German has informed Deco that if Barcelona are going to strengthen the left side of their attack, his preferred option is Rashford and no one else.
For Flick, the English international’s profile fits perfectly with the style of play he wants to implement.
However, negotiations with Manchester United could still prove complicated, but Barcelona currently hold a significant advantage in the form of a purchase option included in the loan agreement.
The Catalan club can sign Rashford permanently for around €30 million if they choose to activate the clause at the end of the season.
Because the terms were already agreed during the loan negotiations, completing the transfer would not require lengthy discussions between the clubs.
Even so, Barcelona are not rushing into the decision.
With roughly two months of competition still remaining in the season, the club’s leadership wants to evaluate how the campaign concludes before confirming any long-term commitments.
