FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is determined to eliminate all distractions beyond those strictly necessary.

Aware of the immense popularity of the Barcelona squad and the commercial pull of several of its star players, the German manager has implemented notable adjustments to the team’s internal code of conduct, reports SPORT.

Flick firm on squad’s code of conduct

As per the report, with pre-season now underway, Flick has taken a firm stance against the excessive media exposure of his players. He understands that repeating last season’s success will require full focus on football.

From now on, players’ celebratory events and festivities will be reduced to a minimum. Commercial appearances and marketing-related events will be handled more discreetly, away from the spotlight and only if they do not interfere with the team’s day-to-day schedule.

Flick had already emphasised the need to balance private life with the demands of elite professional sport.

Given recent events and the increasing number of commercial and social engagements involving first-team players, the German coach has requested that social commitments be kept to a minimum. The focus must now shift almost entirely to the first team’s work dynamic.

These new measures are intended to ensure that Barcelona players start the 2025/26 season in the best possible condition.

With the arrivals of Joan Garcia, Roony Bardghji, and Marcus Rashford, Flick will have a deeper squad than last season and wants all players in peak form to compete for all titles once again.

External noise can become a distraction for players who are frequently in the public eye due to their popularity. That is why these changes are expected to help the squad maintain full focus on the season ahead.
