Ansu Fati’s injury ordeals continue to haunt him as the 21-year-old Barcelona starlet picked up a fresh one during training today.

Indeed, Barça confirmed via an official statement just a while ago that Fati had injured his foot during training and will now be undergoing treatment in the Catalan capital, ruling him out of the US pre-season tour.

Fati receives assurance from Hansi Flick

Now, Toni Juanmarti has brought forward more details about Fati and his injury as well as how this affects his situation at Barcelona.

As per the update, Fati’s injury occurred when he received a strong stomp on his foot during a training session which left him in discomfort.

For now, the Barcelona youngster is expected to be able to return in three weeks’ time, although it is not entirely ruled out that it might take longer.

Toni Juanmarti further states that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick spoke to Ansu after his injury and reassured him about his future, insisting that the plan they have in place for him does not change.

Fati had been making a great impression in pre-season thus far before his injury and as such Flick seems to be willing to give him a chance once he is fit before making a final decision on his future.

As such, it is not ruled out that the 21-year-old La Masia wonderkid will continue at the club beyond the summer window even though he will now be unable to play any part in the pre-season friendlies in the USA.
