Thursday’s 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg was a painful one for FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.

Not only because of the heavy defeat suffered in a first half to forget, but also because of other circumstances, such as the controversial officiating.

Hansi Flick angry and concerned

As such, SPORT reports that a series of situations that have also come during an electoral period have left Flick somewhat unsettled, as he is wary of anything that may interfere with the normal course of the season.

As already reported, the German tactician was angry and frustrated with the performance of the referee on the night, with Barça getting a goal ruled out in controversial fashion, while a potential red card offence by Giuliano Simeone was overlooked as well.

Along with that, the report states that Flick is surprised and concerned by the club presidential elections set to take place at Barcelona.

Barça are a very particular club and Hansi Flick is passionate about and appreciates the idiosyncrasies of the Blaugrana institution, but in recent days, he had not fully understood why presidential elections had to be held in the middle of the season.

By nature, anything that may interfere with or even affect the normal functioning of the team can represent a difficulty in the manager’s plans.

Flick’s relationship with Joan Laporta is very good, as it is with Deco, but this whole process took him somewhat by surprise.

Barcelona have taken it upon themselves to explain the reasons for holding the elections now, and Flick has come to understand it.
