Sunderland are reportedly weighing a triple transfer push as Florent Ghisolfi maps an ambitious summer rebuild.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester City’s Rico Lewis, 21, is assessing his future amid limited minutes, despite a long-term deal signed last year. Valued at about £44m, he wants regular football to protect his England prospects, with Sunderland listed among suitors alongside Newcastle United, Everton, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Brighton.
The outlet also says Sunderland are monitoring Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson, 19, valued around £10m. A first-team regular since a December debut, he is on the radar of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle.
Sport Witness relays that long-standing target Sergio Arribas, 24, of Almeria, remains on Sunderland’s radar at roughly £13m, with Ghisolfi understood to be a long-term admirer. Securing Lewis, Atcheson and Arribas together would amount to about £67m.
Football Insider reports Chelsea’s strong interest in goalkeeper Robin Roefs, 23, who is valued at up to £60m, with Liverpool and Manchester City also monitoring. The Dutchman is expected to return to the starting XI after the international break following several weeks out injured.
