Real Madrid have had a rough start to the new season. Despite being labelled as the undisputed favourites to win the league title, the club have racked up only five points from their opening three matches.

Real Madrid’s most recent mishap came against Las Palmas, with the reigning Spanish champions being held to a 1-1 draw in Gran Canaria.

Despite an early lead, Los Blancos were unable to break through the disciplined defensive setup orchestrated by Luis Carrion, leading to their second draw in just three La Liga games.

Following Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Las Palmas, Florentino Perez, the club president, took an unusual step.

Traveling with the team to Gran Canaria, he made his way to the locker room after the match to deliver a message directly to the players.

Perez, visibly unsatisfied with the team’s performance, emphasized the need for a heightened level of focus.

“Every team will play the match of their lives against us, that’s how it is,” he reminded the players, pointing to the tenacity that Real Madrid encounters when playing away games, like the recent ones against Mallorca and Las Palmas.

While Perez acknowledged the early stage of the season, he cautioned against complacency, highlighting that “we have 5 points out of 9, and this is just the beginning.”

His message was clear: Real Madrid must expect tough resistance, especially on the road, and should not rely on second-half intensity alone.

Despite the frustrating start, Perez’s presence and words also reaffirmed his confidence in the squad and the coaching staff.

With Barcelona currently sitting at the top of the table, Perez’s rallying call could be crucial in galvanizing the team for the challenges ahead.
