Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Michael Olise’s situation at Bayern Munich, with Florentino Perez ready to monitor developments around the France international ahead of next summer’s transfer window.

Olise was strongly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer, but Bayern made it clear that the winger was not available for transfer. 

That position effectively ended Real Madrid’s hopes of signing him at the time, although the situation could be different next year.

A fresh report from Defensa Central claims Perez and sporting director Jose Angel Sanchez will be watching Olise’s position closely after comments from Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen raised questions over the player’s long-term future in Munich.

Bayern’s Olise stance appears less definitive

Bayern have consistently presented Olise as an important part of their plans since his arrival, and Dreesen once again explained the club’s appreciation of the winger.

At the same time, the German executive stopped short of guaranteeing that Olise will remain at the club indefinitely.

“In this business, making promises is tricky. Will we be able to keep him permanently? We’ll talk about it again next summer.

“It was nonsense to say we had dozens of offers on the table this summer. We didn’t have any. 

“Olise is very important to this team. He’s a magician on the pitch.”

The comments do not amount to confirmation that Bayern are prepared to sell Olise, but they do suggest that discussions over his future could become more relevant once the current season reaches its conclusion.

Olise’s profile fits the kind of attacking talent that has attracted Madrid’s attention throughout the summer.

However, the Los Blancos were unable to make progress because Bayern’s position was clear. If that stance changes, Perez and Sanchez are expected to be among those monitoring the situation.

Lastly, it is important to remember that Real Madrid have already made a major investment in Yan Diomande, who has become the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

So the question remains: is Olise worth pursuing?

If so, a future deal for the Frenchman could potentially surpass Diomande’s figure, particularly given the Frenchman’s standing as a player Madrid have admired for some time.
