Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was not in Saudi Arabia for the team’s win over Atletico Madrid in the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup earlier this week.
He has, however, made his way to Jeddah for the final against Barcelona and will be in attendance for the Clasico later tonight.
The game, after all, is a massive one for the dressing room and the manager, and several of Perez’s decisions will depend on how the game later today pans out.

Speaking to the travelling Real Madrid fans who gathered around him near the hotel in Jeddah earlier today, president Florentino Perez provided a powerful statement on what the club stood for and the legacy of Real Madrid.
“This is the club of the 15 European Cups, and let no one doubt that our players, every time they put on the Real Madrid shirt, are very clear about something that is never up for debate here: we never give up,” he began.
Elaborating on what the Real Madrid jersey and crest stood for over the year, Perez continued saying,
“This white shirt is the protagonist of the most extraordinary moments in the history of this sport. It represents the passion and emotion of football and belongs to the hearts of all of you, to the hearts of the people.”
The Real Madrid president then went on to speak on what the club has achieved over the years and why they are the greatest institution in the sport, adequately pumping up the fans before the finale.
“Over the last 15 years, Real Madrid have experienced one of the most successful periods in their history. Together, we have won 30 titles, including six European Cups.”
“The strength and unity of all Madridistas have been fundamental to this winning cycle. Thank you for everything you give to Real Madrid, and for always standing by our team as we continue to build the legend of the greatest club in the world,” he added.
Finally, he thanked the fans for all their support and for travelling and sticking with the team through thick and thin.
“I want you to know that our players feel your strength and your passion. They are going to give everything so that you can be proud of their dedication and commitment to a crest and a shirt that are symbols of our values.”
