Speaking to Augsburger Allgemeine, Florian Niederlechner has discussed his potential exit from FC Augsburg.
The forward’s contract with Augsburg is due to expire and will allow him and his representatives to talk with other clubs. One such club has been fellow Bundesliga side, Hertha Berlin. It had previously been reported that the 32-year-old had already completed a medical with the club, but he has denied it happened.
In a recent interview, the 32-year-old spoke about his possible exit away from Augsburg and demand from others clubs.
“I’m not in touch with anyone at all. It’s all still going through my advisor at the moment, as we can’t officially enter into negotiations until January 1st. But it’s true that my contract here at FCA is expiring and there’s a lot of demand for my good preliminary round. But I’m not going to say which clubs they are now,” Niederlechner explained.
The forward has featured heavily for Augsburg this season and has made 16 appearances from which he has scored five goals and assisted twice. Niederlechner has been on the books at Augsburg since 2019. However, a move away from the Bavarian-based club looks imminent. With the January window opening in a matter of weeks, it will become which club Niederlechner’s references.
