Florian Wirtz is closer to a transfer to England, as Sky's Florian Plettenberg has reported that Liverpool FC has been told by Wirtz that he will be committing to the club.

Liverpool are preparing an offer, which will be sent to Leverkusen quite soon - after this, the two clubs will discuss a concrete deal which could be finalised on 1. June, the date the summer transfer window officially opens. The offer will likely meet the conditions that Leverkusen stated they want earlier this week, which were €150 million or more.

FC Bayern München, the Bundesliga champions who have been linked to Wirtz for months, and who appeared to be the frontrunner at certain points, have been told that Wirtz has committed to the Merseyside club.

Earlier today, Sport BILD reported that Wirtz was looking at houses in the Liverpool area. Tobias Altschäffl reported on the BILD podcast, “Bayern Insider”, that Wirtz “looked at the area, apparently looked for houses, if we can believe his colleagues there. It was definitely about Liverpool giving it their all; financially, there are no limits for them.”

Bayern are now looking at options on the wings, considering that Leroy Sané could leave the club at the start of June, and Kingsley Coman is receiving offers from the Saudi Pro League, according to Plettenberg; the two main players the Bavarian club are looking at are Kaoru Mitoma, 28-year-old Japanese winger for Brighton & Hove Albion, and Rafael Leão, 25-year-old Portuguese winger for AC Milan.

Nico Williams, 22-year-old Spanish winger for Athletic Club, and Jamie Gittens, 20-year-old English winger for Borussia Dortmund, are also being evaluated, as sporting CEO Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund have been looking at as many options as possible. However, Bayern have not made offers for any of the four players yet.

More news will follow regarding Wirtz, and Bayern's winger search, as the week progresses.
