Fluminense drop out of Brasileirão’s top six after defeat to Ceará

After the 2-0 defeat to Ceará last Sunday (2), Fluminense left the G-6 of the Brazilian Championship. The Tricolor was overtaken by Botafogo, who earned a point by drawing with Mirassol last Saturday (1st).

After the Libertadores final, the Brasileirão will have a G-7. This is because the top two teams (Palmeiras and Flamengo) are the finalists. The winner will qualify to compete in the tournament again next year, thus opening up another spot in the Brazilian Championship.

The Team of Warriors finished the round in 7th place, with 47 points. If they win against Mirassol next Thursday (6), Flu can return to the G-6 if the black-and-white rival stumbles in the next round.
