According to Coluna Do Fla, Fluminense have decided head coach Luis Zubeldía will not lead the team against Flamengo, despite his return to work after surgery earlier this month.

Zubeldía had been away from team activities since 10 January and only resumed duties on Friday 23.

Although present for the last two training sessions, he will sit out the derby. His first game of the season is set to be against Grêmio in the Brasileirão.

Assistant Maxi Cuberas will take charge from the dugout.

Fluminense are also without three players, Cano, Hércules and Soteldo, as all remain in the club’s medical department.

Flamengo v Fluminense kicks off at 18:00 Brasília time on Sunday 25, in the fourth round of the Carioca.
