Fluminense player wins under-20 tournament with South Africa

South African Madiba, of Fluminense, won the undefeated two-time COSAFA Under-20 Cup title. South Africa beat Mozambique 2-1 this Sunday (27) and secured the competition title. Madiba was a starter throughout the campaign, which also included wins over Lesotho, Angola, and Eswatini, as well as a 4-2 victory over Zambia in the semifinal. With the achievement, South Africa and Mozambique secured spots in the 2027 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations, in Ghana. At 17 years old, the Fluminense player had also won the continent’s main national team competition in 2025.
