Brentford kept their European hopes alive with a 1-0 win over already-relegated Ipswich at Portman Road, as Kevin Schade’s early header earned them a fourth straight Premier League victory.

The winger made the difference in the 18th minute, glancing in Bryan Mbeumo’s corner for his fourth goal in three games. The result cements Brentford’s grip on eighth place and gives them a real shot at qualifying for next season’s Europa Conference League.

Schade’s goal also added to Brentford’s growing reputation as one of the strongest aerial threats in Europe. It was their 14th headed goal of the season - more than any other side in Europe’s top five leagues, with only Bayern Munich and Inter Milan matching that total.

The win also confirmed the Bees as the Premier League’s top away side in 2025. With 22 points collected on the road, no team will finish with more this year. Both Crystal Palace and Arsenal sit on 17 points and have just one away fixture left.

It’s not just their attacking form that’s impressed - Thomas Frank's side have also been rock-solid defensively away from home this year, conceding just five goals on their travels, the fewest of any side in the league.

Meanwhile, Mbeumo’s assist took him to 25 goal involvements this season (18 goals and 7 assists), meaning he’s now set a new club record for the most in a Premier League campaign, surpassing Ivan Toney’s 24 from the 2022/23 season.
