Yan Diomande is currently one of the most sought-after young talents on the continent. A look at his underlying numbers shows just how impressive the RB Leipzig winger has been this season.

Historic scoring run

Yan was back in the spotlight during the recent Bundesliga match in Hoffenheim (3-1 loss). His strike to make it 1-0 wasn’t just his third goal in a row (after scoring against Augsburg and Stuttgart) – it also put him in elite company. At just 18 years and 359 days old, the winger is now one of the five youngest players in Bundesliga history to score in three consecutive games.

It places him alongside names such as Florian Wirtz and Lukas Podolski – a strong indicator of the level the four-time Ivory Coast international is already operating at.

Dribbling numbers among Europe’s best

Yan isn’t only catching the eye with his goals. His overall skill set features qualities rarely seen in players of his age – especially his ability to beat opponents one-on-one.

This Bundesliga season, Yan has already completed 30 successful dribbles. Among all teenagers across Europe’s top leagues, only Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal (33) has more.

Within the Bundesliga, he leads the ranking by some distance. The chasing pack consists of three players with 18 successful dribbles each: Bayern’s Luis Díaz, Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré and Antonio Nusa – meaning there’s yet another Leipzig player in the top five.
