Fontenay vs PSG Coupe de France tickets snapped up, 26,000 sold in two hours

According to L'Équipe, ticket sales opened at 15:00 on Thursday and 26,000 were snapped up within two hours for Vendée Fontenay Foot’s Coupe de France last 64 tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 20 December at 21:00 at Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.

The Vendée club, of N3, had viewed the plan as a small risk, yet the response suggests the gamble has already paid off.

Even so, club president Laurent Mompert urged caution, noting nothing is done yet. The fixture should be a sell-out.

Some buyers faced waits of up to an hour. Mompert described the demand as exceptional. Before that showpiece, Fontenay, fifth in their group, visit Le Poiré-sur-Vie, third, on Saturday for a derby in National 3 Group B’s 11th round.
