Marie-Hélène Patry, the general delegate of Foot Unis, said in a LinkedIn post that she was subjected to a sexist insult within a professional football body.

The public message also expressed support for beIN Sports journalist Vanessa Le Moigne and Gaëtane Thiney, sporting director of Paris FC’s women’s team. It added that they belong on air, in clubs, in the stands and in decision-making bodies, and that they help make football better.

The humiliating episode happened a few months ago. In the post, she described being called “grosse p...” in a professional setting, adding that humiliation hurts and that shame must change sides, everywhere.

Foot Unis is the unified union for professional clubs, created in 2021 after the merger of Première Ligue and the UCPF.

Contacted by phone on Monday, Patry declined to provide further details beyond the post. A former lawyer at a business law firm, she offered no additional comment.
