Nottingham Forest are weighing up defensive additions as the summer window opens on Monday, June 15. Willy Boly is set to depart as a free agent and head coach Vitor Pereira has intimated no major overhaul is required, though ins and outs are expected. BolaVIP reports that Flamengo centre-back Leo Pereira is on their radar, while Radar da Bola says Cruzeiro’s interest in Morato hinges on Brighton’s Igor Julio, and Alfredo Pedulla claims Atalanta are stepping up a move for Nicolo Savona.

Pereira’s representative Ricardo Scheidt is said to have flagged several offers, with West Ham United, Besiktas, Cruz Azul and Monterrey also linked. A separate report suggested Flamengo are aware of attention in the Brazil international but are not considering a sale at present. The 30-year-old is with his national team at the World Cup and has about 18 months left on his deal.

Cruzeiro have identified Igor Julio as their priority and an initial bid was knocked back, with another proposal potentially to follow. Alternatives are being explored, and an approach for Morato is understood to have been made. Forest are not entertaining a loan, the asking price is described as high, and any move could rest on what happens with Igor Julio.

Morato drew a £17 million-plus offer from Wolfsburg in the winter, which was rejected. A permanent move could be viewed differently this summer.

Savona, meanwhile, is open to returning to Italy and his entourage are receptive to Atalanta’s interest. Recent contact has been characterised as intense, and the Serie A side are growing in confidence as they plan for the possible exit of Marco Palestra. Forest signed Savona from Juventus last summer, then a knee injury curtailed his season.
