Nottingham Forest could have their work cut out landing Davide Frattesi from Inter Milan this month.

According to OneFootball, Inter would only reopen talks if Forest change their stance on including Dan Ndoye, and the Forest-Frattesi track is not taking off. The outlet also says the midfielder’s priority is to stay in Italy, either fighting for his place or considering Juventus. Inter do not want a domestic loan with an option, and Juve are not ready to accept an obligation to buy.

Forest revived their interest this month after first being linked last summer and held talks with his representatives, with further discussions anticipated. Valued at about €35m (£30m), the 26-year-old has sought consistent minutes after limited game time. Inter were said to consider a cash-plus-player structure.

Sempre Inter reports a January exit is far from certain, with recent substitute appearances hinting he may still have a part to play at Inter.

Should he leave, a switch to the City Ground might not be the outcome. Newcastle United and Bournemouth have been linked, and Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray and Besiktas are also admirers.
