Nottingham Forest have strengthened their defensive options with the signing of Luca Netz from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 22-year-old has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract until the summer of 2030 at the City Ground, becoming the club’s latest January recruit.

Netz began his career in the Hertha Berlin academy and made his Bundesliga debut at just 17. He joined Gladbach in 2021, going on to make 124 appearances, contributing 18 assists, and establishing himself as a reliable presence on the left flank.

This season he made 17 appearances, registering two assists, showing his ability to support the attack while remaining defensively solid.

Predominantly a left-back, Netz will provide competition for Neco Williams, particularly following the early termination of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s loan to allow the Arsenal man to move to Ajax.
