Forget Yan Diomande, Liverpool need this 85-goal machine instead

Yan Diomande is one of the main players to have been linked with a Liverpool switch this summer.

Ever since Mohamed Salah's outburst, links with new right-wingers started to emerge with Diomande's performances making him a massive priority for the Anfield outfit.

Initially, Liverpool were quoted around £85 million for his transfer but, as the season went on, he only got better which led to many more clubs being linked with an interest in the Ivorian.

This then resulted in RB Leipzig asking for more money to prise him away from the Red Bull Arena which has led to his fee reaching extortionate levels.

And, although the Reds haven't been ruled out of the race yet, if a bidding war occurs, it's unlikely that Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes will risk a huge chunk of their transfer budget on a Bundesliga youngster again.

Liverpool should focus their attention on Jarrod Bowen rather than Yan Diomande

Most of the Reds' links with the Englishman emerged when Jurgen Klopp was in charge but, now that West Ham United have been relegated, the transfer of the attacker could finally be on the cards.

Bowen may be 29 years old but, with how many youngsters Liverpool now have among their ranks, some more experienced players are needed.

And, since whichever right-winger is brought in will need to replace Salah, they need to hit the ground running almost instantly.

Bowen has been one of the Hammers' best players for as long as many can remember with his ability to play anywhere across the front three one of his main selling point.

He also has a keen eye for goal as he's managed to score 85 times for West Ham during his time with the club.

The attacker is clearly too good for the Championship and, since the Hammers will need to sell some players to make ends meet, Bowen could be one of their options to put onto the chopping block.

Jarrod Bowen is a much better option for Liverpool than Yan Diomande

As mentioned, since so many clubs from across the world want to acquire Diomande's services, his asking price is astronomical.

In fact, a recent report has shared that Leipzig may not even consider offers that come in under £129 million, depending on how well he performs in the World Cup this summer.

Of course, he's clearly an extremely talented player but, since he's only had one season in the Bundesliga and is still just 19 years old, his transfer would be a massive risk for any team to take on.

In reality, clubs are investing into how good Diomande could become, rather than the player he is now.

Because, if he continues on this trajectory of getting 20 + goal contributions per season, he could easily become one of the best wingers in the world which, for a 19-year-old, is insane to say.
