Former Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder has left United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain after just 15 matches. The decision to terminate the Dutchman’s contract was made ‘due to a lack of consistency between the coach and his coaching staff with the company’s institutional work system.’

Alfred Schreuder, 51, joined Al-Ain at the end of May following his sour departure from Ajax in January. Al-Ain started the season excellently, with Schreuder winning 13 of his 15 matches in charge. On Tuesday, Al-Ain beat Saudi side Al Feiha 3-2 in the Asian Champions League. Nevertheless, the club have confirmed his departure.

Al-Ain have reportedly already found Schreuder’s successor and will announce the new manager sometime soon. Alfred Schreuder has previously managed Twente, Hoffenheim, Club Brugge and Ajax. During his time in Amsterdam he won just 12 of his 30 matches in charge. He’s also worked as an assistant at Barcelona and Vitesse. Club’s in Europe will definitely be keeping tabs on the Dutchman.
