The 37-year-old has completed the move in a deal worth €1.5 million and has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at Deportivo until shortly after his 39th birthday.

Aubameyang spent last season with Marseille, making 30 league appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. He also featured twice in the domestic cup, scoring once, and registered three goals and four assists in eight Champions League appearances.

His most talked about spell came with Borussia Dortmund, where he established himself as one of Europe’s leading forwards by scoring 141 goals in 213 matches.

At Arsenal, Aubameyang made 163 appearances and scored 92 goals before departing for Barcelona, where he found the net 13 times in 24 matches during the 2021/22 campaign.

The Gabon international has also represented Chelsea, AS Monaco, LOSC Lille, AS Saint-Etienne and Al-Qadish during a career that has taken him across Europe and the Middle East.

His latest move sees the former Arsenal forward return to Spain as he prepares for the next, and most likely final chapter of a well-travelled career that has seen him win far fewer trophies than his goals deserved.

Despite collecting a German cup, FA cup, and French League cup, Auba has never won a league title or European trophy.
