Former Auxerre forward Gaetan Perrin to join Lille | OneFootball

Gaetan Perrin (29) will return to France during the final hours of the transfer window, albeit not to his former club, AJ Auxerre, as had been expected.

Perrin moved to Russia last summer after establishing himself as an important attacking outlet for Auxerre, but his adaptation has not gone as hoped. Despite featuring in 20 matches in all competitions this season, the Frenchman has struggled to fully settle at Krasnodar, where he remains under contract until 2028.

He has been linked with a return to a struggling Auxerre side all window. The club currently find themselves in the relegation zone. 

However, Perrin will not aid their fight against relegation. Whilst there were only formalities remaining to complete the move, he will instead now join Lille OSC, as per a report from Marc Mechenoua. Instead of being dragged into a relegation fight, the winger will instead be in a fight for European football.
