Former Bayern prodigy Paul Wanner ‘to represent’ Austria over Germany

TZ reports that Paul Wanner has decided to represent Austria at senior level rather than Germany ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The 20-year-old has played for Germany at various youth levels.

A product of the Bayern Munich academy, he spent 2024/25 on loan at Heidenheim.

He then moved to PSV Eindhoven last summer for a reported 15 million.

After a settling-in period, Wanner has become a regular starter, scoring three goals in 17 appearances.
