Former Celtic goalkeeper questions players’ ‘bottle’ following 3-0 Rangers defeat | OneFootball

Pat Bonner has questioned Celtic’s bottle following their dismal 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

Martin O’Neill’s side crashed out of the Premier Sports Cup after being comprehensively second best in Sunday’s quarter-final, with Rangers dominating the contest and Celtic struggling to offer any meaningful response.

Former Hoops striker Chris Sutton accused Celtic of being bullied at Ibrox, but Bonner went further by questioning whether the players showed enough character when Rangers took control.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, the former Celtic goalkeeper said: “I was shocked at how well Rangers played but I was utterly shocked by how bad Celtic were.

“It’s bottle. When you come up against a good Rangers team, in this venue and don’t have your fans, you’ve got to go out there and show you’re taking responsibility.

“The players up front, the players Celtic bought, those guys were awful today.”
