One former Chelsea and Arsenal player is now back the Blues to make a title push to win the Premier League this season after some good results.

The Blues seem to be going from strength to strength under new head coach Enzo Maresca, and the Italian is getting a real tune out of this group of players.

Other managers before Maresca failed to get Chelsea back to where they wanted and needed to be, but finally we are seeing something resembling that under Maresca. The results have got better this season and so have the performances. Things are certainly looking up now for the new owners of the club, but they have to keep this momentum going and keep on pushing.

Chelsea have a run of fixtures now that can help them do that. There is never an easy game in this league, but they certainly have a more favourable run now pushing ahead. And the first game of that run came yesterday away at Leicester City, a game in which Chelsea won 2-1 with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea win at The King Power

Emmanuel Petit, who had spells with both Arsenal and Chelsea whilst playing in the Premier League, backs Chelsea to challenge for the title this season.

In words cited on X after the game yesterday, Petit said about Chelsea:

“They’ve played all those games so far against top teams and they are third – only six points behind Liverpool,’ the former Arsenal midfielder told Premier League Productions.

They played very tough games at the start of the season – Manchester City in their first game. I still believe when I look at the schedule, especially starting from January – they are all winnable.

If they can continue until Christmas time with what they are doing, they will be a big threat in the title race.”
