Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has given his ‘informed guess’ on how the Premier League could end up looking this season.
We are now three games into the new season but have to face an international break already just as everyone starts enjoying the new season and gets settled in to it. Chelsea have gone unbeaten in August as they start their new campaign, but now their momentum could get effected by an international break during a domestic season and players could also become at risk of injuries.
Chelsea have made a decent start to the new campaign and although you shouldn’t really look at the league table until after about 5 or 6 games in, Chelsea are sitting nicely in second place at the moment after winning two of their first three game and drawing the first one against Crystal Palace.
Things will obviously get much tougher for Enzo Maresca’s side when they come up again the big teams soon, but this league on the whole is very difficult and you wont often come up against a side who you can just turn over with ease.
So predicting how it will end up this season is going to be very tough as well. But that’s what Pat Nevin has tried to do.

As cited on X this week, Nevin said:
“I do not do predictions but I am happy to try a few ‘informed guesses’.
“One this season was that the top four would end up being way ahead of the rest and yet even though three of that group are already in place at the top of the league (Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal), maybe that gap will not be as big as I thought.”
