Kauê Moreira de Souza, a former Corinthians academy player, posted on social media after the club were ordered to compensate him and pay a long-term pension worth about R$ 2.5 million.
The ruling was handed down by the eighth panel of the Regional Labour Court of the second region. The player said in a post that he never wanted his story defined by injury or a court decision and that he will continue with his head held high.
In October last year, Corinthians had been ordered to pay R$ 50,000 for moral damages and a monthly pension of R$ 12,000 until September 2035, with 13th salary and holidays included.
In the new decision, judges added R$ 150,000 to the moral damages and extended the pension to 2075, when he turns 75. Monthly payments were cut by 15%, a reduction of R$ 1,800, and they can be settled in full by September 2035.
Corinthians may still appeal to the Superior Labour Court. The case began in March last year after Kauê alleged that injuries suffered while at the club forced him to retire prematurely.
Kauê Souza joined in 2019 to play in the now-defunct Under-23, making 12 appearances that year. He had loan spells and injury issues, and the club extended his deal before it ended in 2024. He played five times for Itaberaí in 2024 and once for Inhumas, then retired in 2025 aged 25.
