Former Eredivisie top-scorer Georgios Giakoumakis has moved to PAOK Saloniki, the Greek club announced on Wednesday evening.
The 30-year-old striker joins on loan from Cruz Azul in Mexico, and he could make his debut in the Europa League qualifying round against Wolfsberger AC.
In the Netherlands, the striker is best known for his 2020/21 season at VVV-Venlo, where he was crowned the Eredivisie’s top scorer as he registered 26 goals in 30 games. Since Venlo, his career has included Celtic, Atlanta United, and Cruz Azul.
Before that, he played for five clubs in Greece and Poland. This will be the first time Giakoumakis has played in the Greek league since March of 2020.
