Former Kaiser Chiefs star says keeping Khalil Ben Youssef was a good decision!
The coaching reins at Kaizer Chiefs have now been firmly grasped by Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze for the rest of the season, a move that has garnered approval from former club defender Mokete Tsotetsi.
This follows the recent departure of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who exited the club earlier this month. Despite delivering a Nedbank Cup triumph, a run of poor form cut his tenure short, leading to his exit.
“I think it’s a good decision that they have taken to continue with the two coaches. To be honest, they have been doing well, so there will be continuity because the players understand them,” Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma.
“I think things will settle now a bit because players will know who is in charge for the season. I think they will be able to move forward now and focus. It’s a good decision.”
The duo is not new to leading the team, having previously steered the ship for the first three league matches of the season while Nabi was abroad. During that period, the team enjoyed a perfect start with three victories. However, the team's form notably dipped upon Nabi's return, managing just one win in three league fixtures, which culminated in his suspension after a heavy 3-1 defeat to Sekhukhune United.
With the coaching situation now clarified, the club will look to Ben Youssef and Kaze to bring stability and guide their campaign in both the domestic Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup.
